A character study episode where a sector scan revealing high tachyon emissions forces Picard to become a close friend to a ferengi, testing his moral fortitude (and, more importantly, allowing Patrick stewart to show off his theatre acting chops). Eventually he is rescued by Beverly crusher, but not before giving an impassioned speech on the subtle hazards posed by being rendered unconcious.
